2020 Hang Gliding Worlds and Pan-American to Be Hosted in the USA

CIVL Bureau has approved the following 2020 hang-gliding championships to take place in Groveland, Florida and Big Spring, Texas. The events will be organised by Belinda Boulter and Davis Straub with the support of a solid team.

Groveland, Florida

  • 2nd FAI World Hang Gliding Sport Class Championships
  • 14th FAI Women’s World Hang Gliding Class 1 Championships
  • 9th FAI World Hang Gliding Class 5 Championships
  • 21st FAI World Hang Gliding Class 2 Championships

Big Spring, Texas

  • 1st Pan-American Hang Gliding Class 1 Championships

 

The Groveland event will take place from April 19 to May 1, 2020. Groveland is a reckoned hang gliding site that hosts the Quest Air Open annual competition as well as many others. 

The test event will be on week 1 of the 2019 Quest Air Nationals, from April 13 to 19, 2019.

 

The Big Spring event will take place from  August 2 to 14, 2020. The site is host to the famous Big Spring Open.

The 2019 Big Spring Nationals will be the test event. It will take place from August 10 to 17, 2019.
