16.00 Friday, 28th November

A successful first day - by 16.00 the manifest closed - early this evening because of the Opening Ceremony - more pictures of that later.  By the end of the day 4 rounds had been completed in Formation Skydiving 4-Way Open and Female, 4 rounds of Artistic Events Freefly and 2 rounds both of Speed Skydiving and Canopy Formations, 2-Way Sequential.  A third round of Accuracy Landing had been started.  In total 74 aircraft loads jumped, with a total of 984 jumps being made.

Tomorrow the schedule is for an 8.00 first lift with the continuation of round 3 in Accuracy utilising the helicopters, whilst at the same time it is planned to commence 4 rounds of Formation Skydiving 8-way and VFS, for Artistic Events 4 rounds of Freestyle.  Meanwhile the Canopy Formation 4-way teams in both Sequential and Rotations are on standby for an 8.15 start with 4 rounds in each event planned.  The forecast is for increasing winds during the day - we shall see.

14.45 Friday 28th November

After two rounds of Canopy Formations we have a competition developing between France 2, Russia and France 1 with Sweden and the USA close behind. - with scores of 32, 31, 19 and tieing on 26. 

13.30 Friday 28th November

The Wind Drift Indicator load took off at 8.30 this morning and the first teams were in the air soon after 9.00.  It has been fast and furious here at the DZ Palm all morning with two rounds of accuracy close to finishing by lunch time - 2 rounds of Formation Skydiving 4-Way Female and 4-Way Open, Canopy Formations 2-Way sequential has finished 2 rounds as also has Artistic Events Freefly.  Speed Skydiving is just completing its first round.
