The organizer of the Hang Gliding Class 1 and 5 European Championships which were supposed to be held in France in La Roque-Esclapon in 2026 has withdrawn his proposal. In connection with this CIVL reopens bidding for the said event. 

The deadline to submit FAI 1 event bids is December 1, 2024. If you need more preparation time CIVL Bureau may consider allowing a delay for this event, but please provide a letter of intent to bid before the above-mentioned deadline.

In addition, the CIVL Bureau reminds that the bidding is currently open for:

• 2027 - World Paragliding XC Championships
• 2027 - World Hang Gliding Class 1, 2, 5, Sport, Women
• 2027 - World Paragliding Accuracy Championships
• 2027 - World Paragliding Hike and Fly Championships
• 2026 -  World PG Aerobatics
• 2026 - Pan-American Paragliding XC Championships.
