The second competition day started with blue skies and perfect conditions for the ski race.
As expected, the favorites in female classification and multiple winner of the PS WCS, Magdalena Schwertl (AUT) won the ski race and scored 0 points to her score of 10 points after 5 rounds.
In the male competition it was a tight race which Sebastian Graser (AUT) finished first, 1 ½ seconds ahead of Reinhold Haibel (GER). So Sebastian added 0 points to his 6 cm from yesterday.
With these low points both were on track for a new Para-Ski FAI world record with just one jump left.
The perfect weather remained and in the final Accuracy Landing round Sebastian scored 1cm and Magda landed on a perfect dead centre at the very last jump of the day.
So we have two new FAI World Records (including male junior) for Sebastian with 7 points and one for Magda with 10 points in female category.
Also the conduct of the competition and precision in timing was close to a new record, all rounds started on the minute, and the whole competition was finished after just 1 ½ days with all rounds completed.
The outstanding results and satisfied competitors are the motivation for the hosts from HFSC Freistadt to also apply to be part of the 2020 PS WCS.
The overall scores of the PS WCS 2019 total ranking (all three events combined) are online at www.paraski.org and all results of the Bad Leonfelden finals can be found at worldskydiving.org

In order to use the favorable weather conditions with blue skies and low wind, the WCS competition was started with Accuracy Landing. The Skiing (giant slalom) will be held on Saturday morning at the nearby Sternstein.

The Meet Director, Arnold Hohenegger, did not waste time, the 15‘ call for the first teams was given during the 1st Teamleader Meeting and then the Austrian Airforce helicopter AB 212 lifted the 11 teams in less than one hour per round.
5 rounds in AL were completed, the results are available at http://worldskydiving.org/FrontEnd/CompetitionCollection/1026
Thanks to Franz Singraber who is providing all result lists quickly after each round, which is needed for the jump order in reverse team ranking.

Short explanation of Para-Ski scoring:
The Para-Ski combined score in each individual category (female, male, junior<25 and master >50) is calculated by points.
Each cm in Accuracy Landing equals one point and as the landing point from the standard 2cm dead centre disc is measured up to 50cm, the maximum score in Accuracy Landing after 6 rounds is 300, minimum is zero.
In Skiing, which is a standard FIS Giant Slalom in two rounds, the winner of each round has 0 points. Every score is then calculated by time behind the winner of each round, with 3 points per second. The maximum is 150 points for each round (i.e. disqualification or > 50 seconds behind the leader) and in two runs this makes 300 points maximum.
For overall score all points are summed up and winner is the individual with lowest number of combined points out of 6 jumps and two ski runs.
For team calculation all points of the 4 team members are added together for the team score.
