Is the IPPI Card accepted in your country?

Philippine Paragliding and Hang Gliding Association, Inc (PPHGA) is the only association in the Philippines recognised to issue national licenses for paragliding and hang gliding with the IPPI equivalence written on it, as authorised by our NAC.  Filipino pilots are encouraged to have a national license issued by PPHGA, Inc.   Visiting pilots are encouraged to carry their IPPI card along with their National license, certificate or rating issued by their own federations, or may apply for a PPHGA license.  Pilots must also be familiar with Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) regulations and airspace classifications to safely navigate in the National Airspace System.

What is the minimum legal requirement coverage required in your country?

None. Third party liability is not required by law in the Philippines.

What additional coverage does your country recommend (such as medical insurance, search and rescue etc...) ?

Pilots flying in the Philippines are encouraged to be members of PPHGA.  To register, visit www.pphga.com. When you are a member of PPHGA, you will receive your National license with IPPI Proficiency equivalence and basic personal accident insurance of up to P100,000 (E 1,700)  free of charge.  The personal accident insurance may be upgraded up to a coverage of P500,000 (E 8,500).  Personal Accident Insurance is provided by Philippine British Assurance Company Inc.

Is your NAC prepared to provide a special insurance coverage for guest pilots who do not comply with your national law ?

Guests pilots are not required but may have their national licenses recognised and apply for PPHGA membership however the personal accident insurance covers only Philippine Nationals or Legal residents.
